The Modern Classroom Project
Monday August 5, 2024 10:40am - 11:25am EDT
616
The Modern Classroom Project (https://www.modernclassrooms.org/) is a classroom design model that incorporates blended learning, a self-paced structure, and mastery-based learning. The classroom teacher prepares lessons that students can move through at their own pace. Initial instruction in each lesson is primarily short, teacher-created videos. Each lesson then provides students with opportunities to practice the new content before attempting a mastery check at the end of the lesson. Students only proceed forward to the next lesson after demonstrating mastery of the material. In this session, I will share with you my personal experiences implementing the Modern Classroom Model in several high school science classes this year. I'll show you what I tried. I'll tell you what worked well and what still needs adjustments. And I'll share my honest reflection on my experience.

The Modern Classroom website has lots of resources for teachers, including a full training course that is FREE.
