Important Information
  • All Staff: Choose ONE Keynote and ONE Lunch

  • Required Sessions: Attend sessions that are noted as required for your role. This will be communicated from the department or area you work with (Exceptional Children, Student Services, etc.). 

  • Filtering Sessions: You can filter sessions by clicking “Filter By Type” on the left-hand side of the page on the desktop version of Sched. “All Teachers” Sessions are for all staff. “K-2 Teachers” are targeted for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grade Teachers, 9-12 Teachers for High School teachers, etc. For example, a Kindergarten teacher can click “K-2 Teachers” and see all sessions that would apply to them. You can further filter by sub-type in each area, by hovering over the type: review session titles and descriptions for more specific information. The search feature in the top right is also helpful for finding sessions using keywords.

  • Networking and Collaboration Sessions: These sessions are provided for many content areas, grade levels, and specialty areas. Filter by the session type that best matches your role to see if a Networking and Collaboration/Job Alike session is offered.

Gamifying Learning- Turning Worksheets into Games

We all have to practice concepts to master content and a traditional way of doing this is with worksheets or task cards. This session will focus on turning traditional worksheets or task cards into fun games that level the playing field for all students. You will walk away with easy ways to transform learning in your classroom from boring to fun!

During this session we will share fun and innovative strategies for introducing new vocabulary words, ways to build meaning and understand of new words and review strategies for vocabulary that can be used in any content area.

The objective of this session is to equip participants with practical strategies for implementing differentiated learning menus to foster student autonomy and engagement. Participants will have the opportunity to view examples of menus that are currently used in the upper elementary classroom. They will then engage in hands-on activities to design menus tailored to their specific content areas and grade levels.

In this session, I will share how students can take ownership in their learning during literacy and math. I will share with teachers how I have gone from the traditional timed-center rotations to students working at their pace with choice and how they are held accountable for their work with self-reflection. I will explain my rational and backstory to how and why I developed this approach along with management tips.
