Important Information
  • All Staff: Choose ONE Keynote and ONE Lunch

  • Required Sessions: Attend sessions that are noted as required for your role. This will be communicated from the department or area you work with (Exceptional Children, Student Services, etc.). 

  • Filtering Sessions: You can filter sessions by clicking “Filter By Type” on the left-hand side of the page on the desktop version of Sched. “All Teachers” Sessions are for all staff. “K-2 Teachers” are targeted for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grade Teachers, 9-12 Teachers for High School teachers, etc. For example, a Kindergarten teacher can click “K-2 Teachers” and see all sessions that would apply to them. You can further filter by sub-type in each area, by hovering over the type: review session titles and descriptions for more specific information. The search feature in the top right is also helpful for finding sessions using keywords.

  • Networking and Collaboration Sessions: These sessions are provided for many content areas, grade levels, and specialty areas. Filter by the session type that best matches your role to see if a Networking and Collaboration/Job Alike session is offered.

Designing Collaborative Experiences for Students

Participants will explore the child and adolescent group theory related to collaborative work that drives the ways our students interact with each other when presented with a collaborative task by participating in hands-on teaching protocols that will help students improve their skills in working with their peers. Participants will leave with clear instructional moves they can immediately integrate into their classrooms to make group work more effective.

Crucial Conversations: Skills that allow you to clearly communicate

Based on the principles of Crucial Conversations, participants will explore the skills required to communicate clearly during times of conflict and stress. Participants will explore the difference between facts and stories, and ways we can use facts to "master your story." This session will be focused on ways teachers can communicate with students and parents that take out the emotion and allow you to find a factual foundation.
