  • All Staff: Choose ONE Keynote and ONE Lunch

  • Required Sessions: Attend sessions that are noted as required for your role. This will be communicated from the department or area you work with (Exceptional Children, Student Services, etc.). 

  • Filtering Sessions: You can filter sessions by clicking “Filter By Type” on the left-hand side of the page on the desktop version of Sched. “All Teachers” Sessions are for all staff. “K-2 Teachers” are targeted for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grade Teachers, 9-12 Teachers for High School teachers, etc. For example, a Kindergarten teacher can click “K-2 Teachers” and see all sessions that would apply to them. You can further filter by sub-type in each area, by hovering over the type: review session titles and descriptions for more specific information. The search feature in the top right is also helpful for finding sessions using keywords.

  • Networking and Collaboration Sessions: These sessions are provided for many content areas, grade levels, and specialty areas. Filter by the session type that best matches your role to see if a Networking and Collaboration/Job Alike session is offered.

What to Expect in the Extensions Classroom

Many administrators encounter special education classrooms on the extended content standards in their buildings with little training and understanding on what these classrooms consist of. There is unique content, methodology, and setting within these classrooms. This PD will allow administrators to understand what to expect in those classrooms, what the curriculum looks like, and how to support teacher and students in these settings.

The purpose of the session would be to help teachers learn the basics of using the curriculum in order to instruct students using the extend standards. The basics includes setting students up, learning how to complete benchmarks and how the lessons include 3 levels in order to meet the individual student. This session is speciifc to EC staff, specificall Self-Contain Extensions Classes.

This session will focus on how we incorporate the Unique Reading Program into our classrooms and show how we differentiate the lessons for all our students. We will also demonstrate how to use the data for writing IEPs. The Unique Reading Program is a county program that all self-contain teachers use.
