Grow Your Legacy: How to Have a Successful SAVE Club
Monday August 5, 2024 12:45pm - 1:30pm EDT
312
Purpose: The purpose of this session is to gather all SAVE advisors together in the county. It is also for schools who hope to form a SAVE Club but haven't yet. We are going to discuss ways in which an advisor can run a successful SAVE Club.

Objective: To learn strategies that allow for a SAVE Club to run smoothly and work effectively an efficiently.
Share ideas for SAVE Club programs such as Start with Hello and Say Something to share with club members when the school year begins.

Resources: I will share planning guides from Sandy Hook Promise to help assist advisors as well as ways to communicate with the SAVE Team at SHP if they need further assistance or help. Advisors will also leave with a copy of a club bill o f rights, rules, policies, and specifics about the role of club leadership roles.

Engagement: I will provide a brief slideshow detailing general information about SAVE and Sandy Hook Promise and show a few things our club has achieved over the last few years.
I plan to bring a few members of our club leadership team (student members) who can share about their club experiences from a student's perspective. I will include an activity that we do in sessions with SHP that allows advisors to share what their clubs have done so others can get ideas and for advisors to ask questions.

Are you seeking innovative strategies to enhance your DLI classroom? Do you wish to empower your students and yourself with skills that transcend traditional learning boundaries? Imagine transforming your classroom into a dynamic environment where every question leads to discovery and every challenge is an opportunity for growth.

Welcome to our hands-on session on utilizing inquiry-based strategies to foster self-efficacy and agency in Dual Language Immersion classrooms. This session is designed not just for you to learn but to experience the transformative power of inquiry. As educators, we understand the importance of equipping our students with the tools to navigate their learning journeys confidently. However, achieving this in a DLI setting presents unique challenges and opportunities.

During our time together, you'll dive deep into the inquiry cycle, exploring how it can be seamlessly integrated into daily teaching practices to support both students and teachers in developing a stronger sense of self-efficacy and agency. We'll discuss how these strategies align with the CCS Strategic Plan, emphasizing student wellness, teaching, and learning, and how they cater to the diverse needs of our students.

You will leave this session equipped with practical tools and resources to support your teaching, transforming your DLI classroom into a vibrant ecosystem of inquiry, reflection, and empowered learning. Prepare to engage, reflect, and be inspired to elevate your educational practice to new heights.
