  • All Staff: Choose ONE Keynote and ONE Lunch

  • Required Sessions: Attend sessions that are noted as required for your role. This will be communicated from the department or area you work with (Exceptional Children, Student Services, etc.). 

  • Filtering Sessions: You can filter sessions by clicking “Filter By Type” on the left-hand side of the page on the desktop version of Sched. “All Teachers” Sessions are for all staff. “K-2 Teachers” are targeted for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grade Teachers, 9-12 Teachers for High School teachers, etc. For example, a Kindergarten teacher can click “K-2 Teachers” and see all sessions that would apply to them. You can further filter by sub-type in each area, by hovering over the type: review session titles and descriptions for more specific information. The search feature in the top right is also helpful for finding sessions using keywords.

  • Networking and Collaboration Sessions: These sessions are provided for many content areas, grade levels, and specialty areas. Filter by the session type that best matches your role to see if a Networking and Collaboration/Job Alike session is offered.

These powerful techniques are concrete, specific, and are easy to put into action the very next day.

Administrators and teachers will engage in an honest conversation about grading using dual points of view and experiences (administration & teacher) of shifting traditional grading practices in the secondary setting to a more equitable standards-aligned approach that informs instruction and monitors student mastery in all content areas. Participants will leave the session with ideas and practical approaches to begin the process of shifting grading practices in their building and classroom to an aligned approach that moves toward communicating what students know, understand, and can do.

This session allows educators to experience the three Investigative Science practices of Asking Questions, Planning and Carrying out Investigations, and Using Mathematics and Computational Thinking when embedded within exemplary Gizmo lessons. Consequently, participants develop a deeper understanding of the Scientific and Engineering Practices and how those practices look in the classroom. Teachers will also learn to develop effective lessons around the practices that allow students to develop a deep conceptual understanding of underlying scientific principles. Attendees will receive resources for each Investigative Practice including graphic organizers, question prompts, and student look-for lists. Gizmos swag will also be raffled off during the session.
