  • All Staff: Choose ONE Keynote and ONE Lunch

  • Required Sessions: Attend sessions that are noted as required for your role. This will be communicated from the department or area you work with (Exceptional Children, Student Services, etc.). 

  • Filtering Sessions: You can filter sessions by clicking “Filter By Type” on the left-hand side of the page on the desktop version of Sched. “All Teachers” Sessions are for all staff. “K-2 Teachers” are targeted for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grade Teachers, 9-12 Teachers for High School teachers, etc. For example, a Kindergarten teacher can click “K-2 Teachers” and see all sessions that would apply to them. You can further filter by sub-type in each area, by hovering over the type: review session titles and descriptions for more specific information. The search feature in the top right is also helpful for finding sessions using keywords.

  • Networking and Collaboration Sessions: These sessions are provided for many content areas, grade levels, and specialty areas. Filter by the session type that best matches your role to see if a Networking and Collaboration/Job Alike session is offered.

The Gizella Abramson Holocaust Education Act (NC)-Teaching the Holocaust in Social Studies and ELA

This session will provide key information to support teachers in integrating Holocaust education into ELA and Social Studies Classrooms, as set forth in the recent law directing this passed by North Carolina. Sessions will be led by two teachers in Cabarrus County that teach stand-alone Holocaust and other Genocides courses, along with a teacher from Winston Salem/Forsythe County Schools, who works with the NC Council for the Holocaust and has been instructor with NCCAT's week-long academy on teaching the Holocaust in Washington D.C. and the US Holocaust Memorial Museum.
