  • All Staff: Choose ONE Keynote and ONE Lunch

  • Required Sessions: Attend sessions that are noted as required for your role. This will be communicated from the department or area you work with (Exceptional Children, Student Services, etc.). 

  • Filtering Sessions: You can filter sessions by clicking “Filter By Type” on the left-hand side of the page on the desktop version of Sched. “All Teachers” Sessions are for all staff. “K-2 Teachers” are targeted for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grade Teachers, 9-12 Teachers for High School teachers, etc. For example, a Kindergarten teacher can click “K-2 Teachers” and see all sessions that would apply to them. You can further filter by sub-type in each area, by hovering over the type: review session titles and descriptions for more specific information. The search feature in the top right is also helpful for finding sessions using keywords.

  • Networking and Collaboration Sessions: These sessions are provided for many content areas, grade levels, and specialty areas. Filter by the session type that best matches your role to see if a Networking and Collaboration/Job Alike session is offered.

During this section we would like to talk about the objective, purpose, and action of the LED math model for K-2 Classrooms. We will explore the purpose behind if from research used and from knowledge that was learned from previous PDs. Participates will also have a chance to do the LED model, and put it in action during the section. We will discuss misconceptions, concerns, and challenges of the LED model as well.

L.E.D in Action: Grades 2/3

The goal of the session is to help 2nd and 3rd grade teachers implement the L.E.D model in their classroom. During the presentation, the attendees will participate in a model lesson and receive tips to ensure success in their own classroom. One of the model lessons will be geared towards addition and subtraction (3 digit within 1,000) for 2nd and 3rd grade standards.

In this session, I will share how students can take ownership in their learning during literacy and math. I will share with teachers how I have gone from the traditional timed-center rotations to students working at their pace with choice and how they are held accountable for their work with self-reflection. I will explain my rational and backstory to how and why I developed this approach along with management tips.
